Progress Speech & Language Center (PSL) is a leading pediatric therapy center in Orange County, dedicated to serving children and their families to make progress towards a brighter future. As a Central Reach System Manager and Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in managing both the front and back-end system settings of Central Reach, as well as leading the billing functions of the company. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, which includes both electronic and paper claim processing. You will manage the front and back end settings and functions of the Central Reach EMR system, ensuring that all medical billing, coding, invoicing, and collections are handled efficiently. Your responsibilities will also include following up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe, appealing payer denials due to medical necessity, timely filing, and office & insurance errors. Additionally, you will identify underpaid procedures and prepare all supporting documentation for appeals. You will check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts, and if necessary, call insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments. Your role will also involve identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances, reviewing accounts for insurance follow-up, and answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts. You will follow up on patient account balances, mail statements, post and apply insurance and patient payments, and set up patient payment plans while working on collection accounts. Finally, you will prepare all required medical records, proof of timely filing, and authorizations as needed, and run A/R reports to follow up on outstanding patient insurance balances and unpaid claims.
