Night - 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job. A Brief Overview Disassembles, cleans, assembles, sterilizes, and stores procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique under direct supervision. Completes requests to dispense equipment and supplies and assists in maintaining and processing patient charge records and maintaining department inventory. Locations Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley What you will do The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary depending on department or program needs without changing nature or scope of this position or level of responsibility. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Sterilizes instruments, equipment, linen and supplies using various types of autoclaves. Loads autoclaves in the prescribed manner and set controls to specified time and temperature according to manufacturer’s requirements of items being sterilized. Reads autoclave graph to verify appropriate sterilization cycle and provides required records for inspection. Assembles all instrument procedure trays and packs according to the prescribed manner using count sheets. Wraps and handles packages for sterilization following the procedure. Communicates with supervisor when unable to replace parts or when equipment is deficient in the work area to keep accurate count sheets. Dispenses sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies per department request. Disassembles, cleans, reassembles and tests portable equipment using approved disinfectants, detergents, soaps and cleaners to ensure proper functioning Assists in orientation of new employees to each work assignment area and overall department operation. Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Completion of Sterile Processing Technician Program Required
  • 3+ years to 5 years of Central Processing Tech experience Required
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required
  • CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician required
  • Basic computer skill
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance, Safety and Infection Control guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong command of the English language – reading, writing and speaking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
