About The Position

The Central Planning Manager will support the Senior Director of Supply Chain by supervising the daily activities of the planning team. This role is crucial for ensuring cost-effective and timely planning and production of quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations. The manager will utilize internal and external resources, solve problems, and foster collaborative relationships within the organization while providing leadership and direction to the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum five years' printing experience.
  • Five years' shipping, finishing, order entry, and planning experience.
  • Minimum five years' supervisory experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to do the jobs he/she is supervising or to quickly gain a working knowledge of those jobs.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and motivate individual performers.
  • Ability to relate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Process-oriented.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (email, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, understand and enter data into ERP Systems, occasionally interact with basic web-based pre-press systems for the purpose of viewing and or downloading digital files).
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily activity of the planning team.
  • Applies knowledge of manufacturing operations and provides direction to team for effective project planning.
  • Attends and participates in daily production planning meetings, leading communication of milestone management within team and updating status of key dates.
  • Collaborates with Operations Management, Sales and Customer Service to ensure team is accountable for timely and accurate communication of project goals.
  • Collaborates with Estimating and Scheduling to ensure project plans are meeting or exceeding cost and delivery expectation.
  • Strives to support and advise on SOP's and standardization wherever applicable.
  • Helps develop strategies to achieve load leveling within the department.
  • Provides cross-training to provide effective backup coverage.
  • Assists the Planning Manager with employee performance by setting goals providing feedback and consistently holding team accountable for meeting performance standards.
  • Manages departmental metrics, reporting output, delivery, cost and quality.
  • Functions well in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize, multitask and delegate when appropriate to complete tasks on time.
  • Identifies issues and resolves them in a timely fashion, presenting suggested solutions on larger policy items to management for direction.
  • Partnering with HR and Planning Manager, handles conflict effectively.
  • Ensures staff is in compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Owns issues and problems, seeing them through to resolution.
  • Identifies with and supports company leadership and company decisions.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
