NOVOS FiBER, a premier provider of FTTH (Fiber to the Home) internet services, is seeking an experienced and motivated Central Office and Optical Network Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of our network infrastructure, with a primary emphasis on Nokia technologies. The successful candidate will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of central office equipment and optical network systems, combining technical expertise with a strong dedication to customer satisfaction.

  • Install, configure, and maintain Nokia OLTs, routers, switches, and other optical network equipment in central office environments.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and network performance.
  • Oversee central office activities, including rack installations, power connections, and cable management.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and company standards for central office operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues for optical networks, escalating complex problems as necessary.
  • Provide timely support during outages or degradation events to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, including network configurations, changes, and maintenance logs.
  • Prepare reports on network performance and service availability for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with network engineers, NOC personnel, field technicians, and other teams to ensure smooth network operations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to coordinate installations and resolve issues.
  • Track inventory of network devices and ensure all necessary equipment is available for ongoing projects.
  • Manage the decommissioning and replacement of outdated or faulty equipment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide emergency support and respond to critical network issues.
  • Strong knowledge of FTTH technology, optical networking, and central office operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Nokia network equipment and technologies is required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an ISP or telecommunications company.
  • Familiarity with installation, configuration, and maintenance of OLTs, routers, and switches.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site visits.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Nokia certifications (e.g., Nokia Optical Network Certifications).
  • Industry-standard networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, JNCIP).
