About The Position

This position serves as a leader, motivator, and expert in the successful operation and execution of all areas of Production and Sales across various departments including Non-Perishable (grocery, dairy, frozen foods, Healthy living, bulk foods, and gift baskets), Perishable (Produce, Meat Market, Seafood Market, and Floral), and Food Service (Kitchen, Cafe, Prepared Foods, Cooking School, Bakery, Deli, and Cheese Departments). The role is responsible for ensuring customer delight, partner satisfaction, and meeting company objectives, reporting directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • Strong supervisory and management skills in production and sales across various departments.
  • Long-term strategic and financial planning skills.
  • Bachelor's degree, one to two years related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with automated reporting systems including Inventory, Food Cost, Scheduling, Time & Attendance, and labor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Use independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, including product and department strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or resolving partner-related matters.
  • Oversee multiple departments including merchandising, product mix, product costs, and supervise partners via department managers.
  • Direct, coordinate, and evaluate the overall operations of the unit.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
  • Supervise daily management of Non-/Perishable/Food Service departments and merchandising through department managers and self.
  • Maintain vendor relations and communicate expectations at Central Market.
  • Conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals, and provide partner feedback.
  • Train and develop partners.
  • Provide superlative customer service.
