About the position

The position involves leading the work of overnight Night Stockers and is responsible for the overall ordering, receiving, and stocking of products during the overnight hours. The role requires effective communication with the Grocery Manager to review nightly goals and ensure proper ordering and management of out-of-stocks. The individual will execute the nightly work plan related to stocking standards and merchandising, report any issues to the Grocery Manager, and handle Night Stocker concerns. Training of Night Stockers on operational procedures is also a key responsibility, along with supervising and coaching team members to maintain productivity goals. The organization of backroom operations and staging areas for new deliveries is essential, as well as ensuring merchandise presentation adheres to established practices.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates daily with Grocery Manager to review nightly goals
  • Responsible for proper, accurate ordering and managing out-of-stocks
  • Ensures execution of the nightly work plan for stocking standards and merchandising
  • Reports and records all problems that occur during shifts to the Grocery Manager
  • Handles Night Stocker issues and communicates them to the Grocery Manager
  • Communicates schedule changes and time attendance issues to the Grocery Manager
  • Trains Night Stockers on overnight operations procedures
  • Supervises, directs, and coaches Partners to ensure productivity goals are maintained
  • Maintains organization of backroom operations overnight
  • Prepares and organizes staging areas for new deliveries
  • Directs and assists Partners with unloading trucks as needed
  • Ensures merchandise is presented according to established practices
  • Reports equipment issues to the Overnight Operations Manager
  • May serve as backup in absence of the Overnight Operations Manager

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of prior supervisory experience preferred
  • 3-6 months prior stocking experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently prioritize issues quickly
  • Ability to work overnight schedule
  • Able to operate pallet jack/baler
  • Prior Forklift/Powerjack experience
  • Experienced in making sound decisions independently
  • Previous Customer Service experience highly preferred
  • Ability to work without supervision and make independent decisions
  • Proven time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle issues or elevate them to DM, Director, or GM
  • Ability to read and comply with Food Safety & Sanitation requirements
