The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the meat industry, with a deep understanding of cuts, preparation, and cooking methods. This role will involve overseeing day-to-day operations of the meat department, managing inventory, ensuring product quality, and driving sales growth—all while providing leadership to a dedicated team of professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of butchers and meat specialists.

  • Utilize deep knowledge of meat cuts, sourcing, preparation, and cooking techniques to guide customers and staff.
  • Ensure that every team member has the training and resources to deliver expert advice to customers.
  • Provide exceptional service by engaging with customers, offering product recommendations, and ensuring a personalized shopping experience.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the meat department, ensuring that products are fresh, stocked, and properly rotated.
  • Manage ordering and inventory to meet customer demand and minimize waste.
  • Ensure all meat products meet company and regulatory standards for quality, freshness, and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections and enforce health and safety regulations.
  • Work with the store’s leadership team and division support to develop promotional strategies, drive sales, and introduce new products to meet customer demand.
  • Utilize expertise to create displays and drive interest in the department.
  • Provide ongoing training on product knowledge, cutting techniques, and customer service.
  • Help your team stay up-to-date on industry trends, new cuts, and seasonal offerings.
