About The Position

We are looking for a talented Central Manufacturing Quality Leader to join our On-site team specializing in Quality for our Cummins location Oshkosh, WI. Applies Manufacturing Knowledge: Implement process and equipment changes that enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and support long-term manufacturing excellence. Manages Complexity with Clarity: Navigate and synthesize complex, high-volume information to make sound decisions and drive effective problem resolution. Drives Continuous Process Improvement: Identify and execute improvement opportunities using lean and quality tools to reduce cost, improve quality, and streamline operations. Brings a Global Perspective: Approach challenges with a broad, cross-cultural lens to ensure scalable, globally relevant solutions that align with enterprise goals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated role competence is required.
  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Significant level of relevant work experience required.
  • Preferably 5-7 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience is preferred.
  • QMS Leader This role requires extensive experience when it comes to Quality Management System ownership, development and maintenance .
  • The Oshkosh Plant is currently ISO certified but will be transitioning to the IATF standard in the near future. This is a key responsibility for this role.

  • Customer Focus The QM must be the face of the Oshkosh Plant when it comes to customer satisfaction. Clear, timely, concise and punctual communication is required. The goal is to exceed all customer expectations when it comes to customer perception by building strong relationships and delivering a sound product .
  • Organizational Leadership The right person for this role must be a strategic thinker . Future planning. How do we move the needle and maintain the improvements. Big picture thinking.
  • The QM role must be able to coach, mentor, train, motivate and build relationships both within the Quality Organization and outside.
  • Accountability throughout the organization is key when it comes to all aspects of the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing union employees is a plus
  • Some Project Management experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Functional Leadership Across the Network: Provide strategic and operational leadership for Manufacturing Quality across all plants, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and standards.
  • Quality Planning and Execution: Lead or support annual quality target setting and drive improvement initiatives that meet or exceed business and customer expectations.
  • Corrective Action and Problem Solving: Coach and support teams in addressing major or recurring quality issues using standard problem-solving tools and methodologies with urgency and precision.
  • Cross-Functional and Cross-BU Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships across functions and Cummins business units to share best practices, harmonize processes, and build common quality frameworks.
  • Talent Development and Knowledge Exchange: Support organizational development, succession planning, and global talent initiatives by enabling knowledge sharing and capability building.
  • Project Prioritization and Performance Tracking: Identify, analyze, and prioritize key quality improvement projects across plants, and track progress and outcomes to ensure sustained impact.
  • Strategic Planning and Technology Integration: Align quality practices with emerging technologies and data transparency to drive organizational excellence and future-ready strategies.
  • Sustainability and Innovation: Identify opportunities in product and process design to reduce greenhouse emissions and support company-wide environmental initiatives.
