About The Position

HealthPartners is hiring a Central Laboratory Supervisor. he Central Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of the assigned laboratory staff. Responsible for the development and implementation of training & competency programs for assigned staff. Duties include the hiring, scheduling, daily oversight, safety, coaching and discipline of staff members as well as yearly performance evaluations. Participates as a member of the Central laboratory and HPMG leadership teams. Reports to Central Laboratory Manager. This position typically works Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Some overnight shifts may be required to support overnight staff. The role includes on-call responsibilities every third weekend, as well as occasional holidays. Work hours may vary based on project demands, meetings, and overall business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science; NCA, ASCP or equivalent certification.
  • Five years of recent experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of laboratory regulatory requirements (CLIA, COLA, CAP.OSHA, etc.), including clinical application of those regulations, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Proven skills and experience with Electronic Medical Record, Laboratory Information Systems and associated technology applications.
  • Proven project management skills and knowledge.
  • Proven computer knowledge and ability, including skills with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, etc.
  • Proven Leadership skills such as partnership/collaboration, coaching/development, engagement, healthy communication, outcomes driven & critical thinking, integrity, and tolerance of ambiguity and flexibility to changing system needs.
