About The Position

The Central Core Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Nursing Staff in the Operating Room by managing sterile instruments and supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for surgical procedures. This position is essential for maintaining patient safety and quality care, adhering to the mission and core values of Bon Secours Mercy Health Partners.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR Certification required.
• 1 year of experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Nursing Staff in the Operating Room with management of sterile instruments and supplies.
• Gather necessary supplies for each surgical procedure based on the printed surgical schedule.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the location of supplies and how to procure extra supplies needed for specific cases.
• Maintain inventory control by checking stock levels and restocking as necessary.
• Act as a liaison between Central Supply and the Operating Room.
• Communicate pertinent case information with the RN and perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Participate in department/unit meetings and performance improvement initiatives.
