About The Position
As a Centerless Grinder Set Up Operator at 3-V Fastener Co., Inc., you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by setting up and operating a Cincinnati #2 OM Center-Less Grinding Machine. This position is integral to our commitment to quality and efficiency in producing fasteners and fittings for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. You will be responsible for planning and performing close tolerance set-ups with various material types, ensuring that all operations adhere to our quality policy. Your expertise will not only contribute to the production process but also involve training and instructing lower-level employees, fostering a collaborative and skilled workforce. In this role, you will establish proper grinding wheel speeds and stock removal rates to optimize efficiency. You will be expected to perform first article inspections, referring to part prints before operating or handing over tasks to other operators. Your participation in continuous improvement activities will be essential in helping the team meet daily goals related to quality and productivity. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is paramount, and you will work with minimal supervision to independently execute your responsibilities as a Set-up Grind Operator. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, as you will be responsible for reading and understanding work instructions, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner, and accurately documenting production information. You will also be expected to observe all safety regulations and report any equipment defects or unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
