POSITION SUMMARY The Center Store Project Manager oversees major merchandising initiatives, such as total store resets, store remodels, store grand openings, fixture installs and replacements and other assigned projects. The Center Store Project Manager is responsible for project management and in-store leadership of contractors, DSD vendors, 3rd party labor, and store personnel depending on the scope of the project assigned. The individual is expected to be a role model of the company by driving results while maintaining company core values.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in a progressive operations role including managing different sales volume departments
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and exhibit excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Proven experience in dealing effectively with diverse team member/management issues
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws applicable to effectively running a store, governmental compliance requirements, employment and labor laws, including immigration laws and processes
  • Possess the ability to articulate the complexity of business needs and the capability to build/develop practical action plans based upon those needs
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills are required. Solid ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems on issues, by using judgment that is consistent with applicable standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or government law
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (includes active listening). Able to prepare effective written reports, correspondences, and presentations to management as required. Experienced in facilitating meetings by utilizing effective presentation skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand both English and Spanish sufficiently to understand conversations, presentations, company manuals, forms and documents
  • Proficient computer skills in the areas of e-mail, Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.) required
  • Effective planning, prioritization and time management skills with effective ability to follow-up on delegated assignments
  • Able to drive and flexible to travel to all company locations as required
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a team lead in the organization and execution of assigned projects
  • Manage large scale projects, store merchandising, and arrangement services, and new store sets
  • Act as the in-store liaison with all corporate office departments for needs and issues related to the project
  • Review, analyze, and implement a schematic to effectively complete reset as needed
  • Actively participates in projects including but is not limited to, scheduling, reporting, and ensuring resets are completed accurately, completely, and on time
  • Direct vendors, and company team members for assigned projects
  • Resolve any preliminary floor set issues with store personnel
  • Provide detailed reports and recaps on issues and resolutions, as well as project recommendations with immediate Supervisor
  • Effectively and accurately prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to assigned project
  • Build, maintain, and promote strong working relationships with company management, hourly personnel, retail store management
  • Ensure signage is in place for new items at all assigned stores
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Teach and execute creation of merchandise displays that align to the company direction that promote cross-merchandising, scalable in size as space permits in the predetermined location
  • Ensures proper execution of Company programs, i.e. new product rollouts, category resets, merchandising plans, CGO and other replenishment tactics
  • Maintains a positive work environment and ensures fair and consistent treatment of all team members and customers
  • Leads by example on the importance of Customer Service excellence. Always engages with customers
  • Provides translation of communication between Store Support Center and store teams as needed
  • Able to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, guiding store team leaders and team members on the interpretation of policies and procedures
  • Able to make recommendations to effectively resolve challenges or concerns, by using sound judgment that is consistent with company standards, practices, policies, procedures, government regulation or law. Seeks to make decisions in a manner consistent with the job functions, and to seeks advice from executives and others as appropriate
