Position Overview: The Center Store Manager (CSM) is responsible for all functions specific to the Grocery, Refrigerated, Frozen, Beer, and Wine departments and ensures that the departments runs smoothly and effectively. The CSM supervises all department staff and oversees department operations, which includes ensuring proper department merchandising and product quantity and quality. The Center Store Manager ensures timely and accurate replenishment buying daily, utilizing systems, HL software, ordering systems, cycle counts and data reports to effectively purchase for the needs and budgetary goals of the company. The Manager is also responsible for exemplifying and providing genuine and compassionate “extra mile” service to our guests.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 2 years of management/progressive supervisory experience
  • At least 2 years working in a professional retail environment; preferably in the grocery or natural foods industry
  • Previous buying, inventory management or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with local products is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and is accountable for day-to-day store operations and ensure an organized and smoothly run operation
  • Work to ensure a stable, profitable, and growing business
  • Monitor and manage store operations throughout the various departments
  • Promote and empower continuous quality improvement across all departments
  • Assist Department Supervisors, as necessary, in order to maintain inventory, product mix, and merchandising standards in order to meet organizational goals
  • Ensure the ultimate guest experience is being achieved; ensure the HL culture is maintained and that a positive, comfortable and welcoming store atmosphere is maintained
