About The Position

To ensure the highest level of service possible to Outpost’s internal and external customers. Order product to maintain a fully stocked store. Ensure a well maintained, clean and efficient center store department.

Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service
  • Previous experience with stocking, ordering, and receiving in a retail setting
  • Ability to work in cold climate on regular basis (coolers range from -25°F – 20°F)
  • Ability to appropriately delegate work duties and motivate staff
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Treat people fairly, consistently, and with respect.
  • Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards.
  • Ensure professional and friendly service from all grocery staff.
  • Handle customer questions and complaints.
  • Be knowledgeable of products and stay up-to-date on industry trends.
  • Order product to ensure department is fully stocked, while keeping inventory to minimum.
  • Ensure deliveries are checked in and stocked in timely manner.
  • Ensure proper handling of perishable product to ensure a safe and quality product.
  • Ensure department aisles, coolers, and backstock areas are kept neat and clean.
  • Maintain an organized layout of back stock areas.
  • Assist with product returns and obtain credit from vendors. Notify manager of discrepancies.
  • Advise Department Manager of equipment repair/replacement needs.
  • Ensure all department display areas are properly fronted and faced.
  • Ensure proper shelf tags and sale signs are on shelves and displays.
  • Request signs from pricing as needed.
  • Set up and maintain endcaps and shippers.
  • Assist with shelf resets and quarterly inventory.
  • Attend department meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform all duties included in department clerk job descriptions.
  • Delegate duties to staff and ensure they are always busy.
  • Positively encourage department staff to excel at their job.
  • Replace vacant shifts when call ins, etc. occur. Notify manager of these occurrences.
  • Assist in training department staff.
  • Assist department staff in following department standard operating procedures.
  • Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents.
  • Keep store orderly and clean.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Department Manager or supervisory staff.
