About The Position
This is not an official job description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform: You could expect the position of center store clerk to include providing friendly and courteous service to customers, stocking, straightening and rotating product on shelves in Dairy, Frozen, Non-Foods, and Grocery Departments, processing incoming product, reading and understanding shelf tags, sorting damaged product for credit, operating equipment like a hand jack, power lift and cardboard baler, following company safety guidelines, maintaining cleanliness of various areas, and maintaining company productivity standards. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management. Training will be provided at store level.
Requirements

- Bending
- Stooping
- Able to stock 50 cases per hour
- Able to work in a cold environment (-10 to 40 degrees)
- Able to push loaded two wheeler (average 100-120 pounds)
- Able to pull a loaded pallet (up to 700 pounds)
- Able to pull loaded stock truck
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Working on feet entire shift (4-8hours)
- Internal Candidates: Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
- Internal Candidates: If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks (for Store/Facility Teammates)
- Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks (for Store Support Center Teammates)
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
- Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Stock, straighten and rotate product on shelves in Dairy, Frozen, Non-Foods., and Grocery Departments.
- Process incoming product from our warehouse and direct store delivery vendors
- Read and understand shelf tags
- Sort damaged product for credit
- Operate a hand jack, power lift and cardboard baler
- Follow company safety guidelines when using cutters, power lifts, and baler
- Maintain cleanliness of shelves, displays, backroom, refrigerated cases, cooler and freezer
- Maintain company productivity standards
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management
