About The Position

The primary physician at CSL Plasma serves as the main medical oversight for the center, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, particularly those outlined in Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations. This role involves overseeing medical staff, conducting training, and maintaining high medical standards while ensuring adherence to cGMPs. The physician is responsible for evaluating donor suitability, managing medical incidents, and acting as a liaison between the center and corporate medical leadership.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school.
  • Current and active medical license in the state where the Center is located.
  • One year of residency training as an MD or DO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oversight in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Serve as or delegate the duties of laboratory director, technical consultant, or clinical consultant as per CLIA regulations.
  • Ensure CLIA/COLA training and proficiency testing is conducted.
  • Review and comply with CSL Plasma Services policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high medical standards and ensure adherence to cGMPs.
  • Train Medical Staff Associates and evaluate their training completion.
  • Functionally direct the Center Medical Staff and provide training on medically related procedures.
  • Review Medical Staff Associates' notebooks and screening evaluations weekly.
  • Meet monthly with Medical Staff Associates to discuss medically related topics.
  • Document meetings and maintain communication with the Center Manager and Compliance Specialist.
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate Medical Director and Center Medical Staff, preparing reports and participating in conference calls.
  • Respond to donor suitability inquiries and provide instructions to Center Medical Staff.
  • Conduct confidential interviews with donors regarding their medical history and suitability for donation.
  • Oversee maintenance of medical supplies and emergency equipment.
  • Review and sign off on medical incident reports and abnormal test results.
  • Monitor donor clinical responses to immunizations and oversee hyper-immune programs, if applicable.
  • Perform qualifying evaluations for donors in specific programs, if applicable.
  • Submit monthly reports to Divisional or Corporate Medical Director.
