About The Position

This part-time staff position in the Department of Kinesiology will act as a Center for Fitness and Wellness (CFW) Support Assistant. The position reports directly to the CFW supervisor. Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience preferred in the fitness industry performing exercise testing, wellness coaching, or personal training.
  • Professional certification preferred; ACSM NSCA, ACE, or NASM may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily functioning of the center
  • Calibrating/troubleshooting equipment
  • Conducting fitness testing on primarily undergraduate students, as well as lipid and glucose testing
  • Training and oversight of undergraduate interns
  • Debriefing clients
  • Data quality control
  • Collecting fees for services
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Administrative functions
