About The Position

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is looking for two graduate students to experience two summer fellowships with a focus on American painting and sculpture, including Indigenous arts, from the mid-nineteenth century to c. 1960, to assist in the reinstallation of the American galleries, and American art from the period 1876-1926, assisting a special exhibition on the Arts and Crafts Movement in Philadelphia. The Summer Fellows will be chosen to assist the Curators in the Museum’s Department of American Art, contributing to planning for the reinstallation of the museum’s collection of American art from c. 1840 to 1960 to open early in 2026; or assisting in the preparation of a loan exhibition focusing on Philadelphia’s Arts and Crafts movement, opening later in the spring of 2026.
