About The Position

Plans, organizes, administers, and controls the programs and activities necessary to effectively operate and meet the objectives of a Job Corps training center. These objectives are to prepare young, disadvantaged youth for useful employment by providing comprehensive residential training, educational and Career Technical Training, and positive paths through personal example, understanding, and patience by a combined effort of all staff. Leads the center, staff and student body in alignment with CSD’s 4 Pillars and Leadership model and ensures a growth-oriented culture exists for all. The Center Director is responsible for administering a contract negotiated with the Department of Labor.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Five years’ experience in program management and direction in Job Corps or similar training program.
  • Must have experience working with youth.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost containment strategies.
  • Model company Core Values.
  • Willing to travel, when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with the program’s targeted population is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and supervision of the Job Corps Center and all campus operations
  • Model and enforce Company Core Values, operating principles, and center norms
  • Ensure the health, safety, and security of all students and staff as the top priority
  • Oversee all center functions including academics, career technical training, health, residential, counseling, behavior management, HR, administration, and career transition/placement
  • Ensure compliance with USDOL, state, federal, and company requirements, including Zero Tolerance and Significant Incident Reporting
  • Lead center performance to meet or exceed Performance Management System goals (OMS, POMS, OAOMS, CTTRC, outcomes, and 100% OBS)
  • Manage center budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Maintain the highest level of data integrity, reporting accuracy, and quality assurance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, students, USDOL, partners, and community stakeholders
  • Foster a positive center culture that promotes student success, staff morale, and retention
  • Supervise, evaluate, and manage staff performance; support hiring, development, and corrective actions
  • Ensure equal employment opportunity, affirmative action compliance, and teamwork across departments
  • Represent the center on workforce boards, youth councils, and in the community
  • Communicate regularly with senior leadership and provide required reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned
