About The Position

The center based Director will oversee the center to ensure all operations are compliant with DOH, NYCBEI, daycare and IPRO regulations; ensure that enrollment and utilization matches company set benchmarks, and that all services are being delivered according to the child’s IFSP. This person will collaborate with the outreach department to ensure our referral source relationships are strong. Essential Functions Train and provide orientation to new center-based staff Schedule staff and parent workshops pertaining to topics surrounding clinical best practices; and generalization of children’s skills from center to homes Collaborate with all related service providers; supervise all teachers; and aids in the center Collaborate with teachers and ensure that all children programs are appropriate and individualized Ensure proper communication to families regarding child’s progress Implement and monitor all activities directly related to the New York State Early Intervention Program and effectively manage educational and therapeutic compliance issues by reviewing all related service providers schedules to ensure all children are receiving all services approved on IFSP; ensure services are being rendered according to IFSP Ensure enrollment is at full capacity by being a liaison between the center and NYC EI; notifying EI on center enrollment capacity. Review utilization Ensures facility complies with NYSEIP; DOH; Daycare requirements (Article 47) regulations Oversee and collaborate with DOT vendor to ensure all DOT approved children receive expedited route coverage; problem solve and manage issues that may come up with vendor Maintain supervision files for all TA’s (i.e. performance evaluations, disciplinary action, etc.) For NYC Center-based program, completion of the 15- hour professional development training ( daycare) is required within 2 years of employment. As assigned, classroom teacher: Direct Clinical: As assigned, classroom teachers delivers ABA instruction to students. Conduct initial and/or post intervention assessments for student, or assign qualified staff to conduct them. Classroom Management Ensure 1:1 coverage for every student (student assignment is rotated on a monthly basis). Assign monthly classroom duties to teacher Aids ex: Disinfecting toys, collecting parent communication logs, organizing toy areas. Ensure that classrooms are clean, materials are organized, and learning sections are labeled according to day care regs. Record daily attendance for each student across all sessions. Ensure body checks are being conducted 2x for every child daily by the TA Conduct/document bi-weekly staff meetings with TAs to review case files Ensure classroom schedules are being followed (aba, snack time, diaper changes etc.) ABA Clinical Responsibilities: Design individualized instruction based on assessments and each student’s IFSP functional outcomes and objectives. Monitor the implementation of ABA programs (i.e. Binder reviews), conduct on-going ABA training, and provide feedback Maintain clinical support files for all TA’s (i.e. performance evaluations, disciplinary action, etc.) Participate in monthly clinical meetings. Maintain communication with parents and addressing all parental concerns in a timely fashion Assist with agency functions as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Special education or equivalent related experience.
  • 0-grade 2 early child hood special needs certificate is requires
  • A minimum 2 years teaching a class with 2+ years’ experience as a Supervisor in an Early Childhood setting
  • Strong organizational, time management, and business management skills are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong Supervisory and evaluation skills to monitor staff objectively and hold them accountable for expected results
  • Ability to inspire confidence in staff and parents.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to create and maintain partnerships with families and NYCEI.
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to frequently assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) while attending to the needs of active children.
  • Must be willing and able to utilize quick body movements as indicted in the Behavior Intervention Plan while working with challenging behavior.
