About the position

As a Behavior Technician at Centria, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with autism by implementing individualized behavior intervention plans. This position involves working closely with children to teach essential skills while reducing challenging behaviors, all under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The role requires a compassionate and patient individual who is eager to make a positive impact in the lives of children and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children with autism to implement individualized behavior intervention plans.
  • Use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
  • Reduce interfering behaviors in children.
  • Collaborate with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to ensure effective intervention strategies are applied.
  • Maintain a patient and compassionate demeanor while working with children.
  • Participate in comprehensive training to enhance skills and knowledge in behavioral analysis.

Requirements

  • Passionate about helping children with autism.
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification and pass a Tuberculosis test if not done in the last year.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Physical ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
