About The Position

The Center Assistant at CareLink plays a vital role in connecting older people and their families with resources to meet the opportunities and challenges of aging. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the center's programs and ensuring a safe and organized environment for clients and staff alike.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current and valid Arkansas driver's license
  • Aging services experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment of participants
  • Assist with recruitment and training of volunteers
  • Certify and/or recertify client eligibility
  • Perform HDMA home visits
  • Assist with Center programs and providing Center activities
  • Provide information to program participants
  • Assist with home-delivered meal program
  • Arrange transportation for clients, and transport clients to and from the community center and other facilities
  • Participate and assist in CareLink fundraising activities
  • Maintain center areas, grounds and vehicles in clean condition
  • Assist in maintaining safe, healthy, organized environment
  • Use word processor to type correspondence, memos, forms, reports, etc.
  • Assist supervisor by answering telephone, making bank deposits, and placing grocery orders
  • Wash and sterilize serving trays, dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils
  • Clean sinks, equipment, appliances, cooking, and serving areas
  • Serve meals
  • Schedule appointments
  • Perform all tasks with limited or no supervision
  • Attend staff meeting, training, and conferences
  • Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable about applicable policies, procedures, and regulations of specific programs, as assigned
  • Train others as necessary or directed
  • Coordinate with other staff and community partners to fulfill job responsibilities
  • Propose process changes or other improvement recommendations as needed
  • Assist Community Services and Saline County and Center Operations as required, by generating spreadsheets for analysis and by entering data and generating reports from a variety of software applications for analysis
  • Develop and generate reports to summarize and quantify activities, services and clients served
  • Produce schedules, timelines, and organizational structure to ensure tasks are completed in a timely accurate manner
  • Keep required documentation concerning daily activities and services
  • Make copies, file correspondence, and other records
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task by handling multiple projects
  • Monitor data entry integrity across multiple software platforms, databases, and shared electronic resources
  • Keep information current and provide updates to other staff as needed
  • Track and maintain waitlist for senior services when needed
