About The Position

This is a part-time (maximum of 29 hours) paraprofessional position providing classroom assistance to teachers. The person is assigned to a specific site and may support multiple classrooms at the assigned location. The person must have a willingness to learn and apply new concepts and techniques with the children in the classroom. The person must also demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse group of families from a wide variety of demographic backgrounds. This position will work under the supervision of the Site Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

• Some College preferred
• Early Head Start/Head Start experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Attend initial orientation
• Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy, developmentally-focused learning environment for the children
• Communicate ideas, problems and concerns to the teacher or Site Manager/Education Specialist
• Plan and support the teachers in the classroom in a variety of planned activities
• Complete all duties related to the service of breakfast, lunch and snack in compliance with CACFP meal service and Family Style Meals
• Attend trainings and meetings upon request
• Perform related tasks as required by the program
• Other duties as assigned
