About The Position

The Centennial Project Manager will provide hands-on support for the planning, coordination, and execution of activities related to the school’s Centennial celebration. Working in close partnership with senior leadership, the Centennial Committee, and key departments, this individual will assist with organizing projects, managing details, and advancing timelines to ensure centennial initiatives move forward smoothly. The role emphasizes collaboration, coordination, and implementation, and is well suited to someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about institutional history and storytelling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in project management, communications, history, education, ora related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort with interviewing and narrative writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, alumni, and volunteers.
  • Must be able to travel between campuses when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in Windward’s history, archives, and story telling strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with common office and project management tools; familiarity with analog and digital archives or content management systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, monitor comprehensive Centennial project plan to ensure timelines are met.
  • Organize, catalogue, and help to preserve archival materials related to the school’s history.
  • Develop a comprehensive timeline documenting the school’s evolution, milestones, and impact over the past 100 years.
  • Assist with coordination among faculty, staff, alumni, and volunteers to source artifacts, photographs, and stories.
  • Collaborate on the compilation and development of a historical exhibition or display that will be replicated at each of the school’s three campuses.
  • Be the point person for the Centennial Committee meetings by preparing materials, capturing meeting notes, tracking action items, and supporting timely completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate between committees, departments, and campuses to help maintain alignment and steady progress across Centennial initiatives.
  • Coordinate vendor timelines (design, printing, AV, etc.)
  • Oversee the established project budget
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team on the development of a commemorative Centennial publication.
  • Ensure quality control including branding consistency and content permissions.
  • Assist with writing, editing, research, and interviews of alumni, faculty, families, and other community members to help capture compelling stories and reflections.
  • Provide coordination and logistical support to the Events Manager for primary Centennial celebration event(s).
  • Assist with interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to support broad participation, cross-departmental collaboration, and smooth execution.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of additional projects and initiatives as outlined in the approved Centennial plan.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, flagging risks or opportunities to leadership as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with development on recognition and VIP moments (sponsors, donor credits, etc.)
