About The Position

The position involves assisting in the general upkeep of Central Region equipment, appearance, and systems, including painting, mowing/clipping, car washing, and maintenance for funeral homes and cemetery (Riverwood Memorials Gardens). The role requires regular maintenance of grounds and facilities, ensuring cleanliness and functionality of equipment and buildings.

Requirements

• High school diploma plus additional experience in mechanical and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
• Knowledge of all aspects of maintenance and groundkeeping.
• Basic knowledge of operation of maintenance equipment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Acceptable verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Mow and maintain all of the Central Region grounds regularly.
• Operate and maintain all grounds maintenance equipment safely and reliably.
• Water all Central Region grounds and plants as needed.
• Weed and maintain all flower beds, including removal and replacement of dead plants.
• Perform building maintenance tasks such as changing heating & air conditioning filters and light bulbs.
• Clean light fixtures and assist in sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning Central Region facilities.
• Conduct minor repairs to all Central Region facilities as abilities allow.
• Power wash buildings and siding as needed.
• Ensure that automotive equipment is clean and ready for service.
• Assist in cemetery grave set-ups and equipment handling.
• Assist with the layout of graves for interments and setting of markers.
• Load and unload casketed remains.
• Travel overland to perform duties as requested by the employer.
• Assist with funeral services where appropriate.
