About The Position

The Cemetery Administration Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the National Cemetery Administration (NCA) standards while honoring Veterans and their families. This position involves monitoring committal services, providing information about memorial benefits to Veterans and their families, and performing various administrative duties to support cemetery operations. The specialist collaborates with the Administrative Officer and Cemetery Administrator to plan and manage cemetery activities, ensuring that all operations align with the mission of the NCA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 level.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor committal services for compliance with NCA standards.
• Represent the cemetery at committal services and outreach events.
• Provide information to Veterans and their families regarding memorial benefits.

• Investigate and determine eligibility for interment activities.
• Complete clerical office automation and typing duties using software like Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Act as a clearing point for inquiries regarding eligibility for burial and other related issues.
