About The Position

The Cement Shop Lead maintains, and repairs equipment used in cement operations, including tractors, cement pumps, and bulk trucks. This role involves performing shop and field repairs, managing, and assigning work orders, monitoring equipment performance using DL8 and Alison software, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with regular or diesel mechanic work
  • DL8 and Alison software knowledge is required
  • Maintaining a valid, current driver’s license and a clean driving record is required
  • Basic communication skills are required, able to interact with team and follow directions
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Must provide own tools, service trucks will be provided for on-site work
  • Upholds a team player attitude with a hard work mentality
  • Must be self-motivated, reliable, independent, and possess a strong work ethic
  • Available to work a 14/7 shift, can safely perform required duties during a 12+ hour workday that will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be physically able safely to lift 50 lbs. and 25 lbs. over head
  • Must be physically able to stand or sit for extended periods, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout work shift.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL is preferred
  • Freightliner maintenance experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair equipment used in cement operations (i.e., tractors, cement pumps, bulk trucks, etc.)
  • Respond to calls to perform repairs at job location
  • Process work orders daily
  • Monitor cement equipment to anticipate future maintenance needs
  • Use DL8 and Alison software to monitor engines or transmissions for needed repairs
  • Assist maintenance supervisors in holding daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Maintain shop flow of equipment
  • Assign and create workorders for mechanics
  • Inspect all work completed by shop mechanics
  • Check tire inventory and bulk oil levels daily and work with supervisors to maintain inventory and orders
  • Communicate with shop supervisors on all jobs assigned to mechanics and complete workorders in Power Apps
  • Field calls from dispatch and other departments to aid in repairs throughout the division
  • Assist and train all mechanics on the use of the work order board, signing out parts, ordering parts, and using our maintenance trackers (Power Apps)
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned
