About The Position

The Laboratory Operations Specialist will provides operational and technical support for the Cellular Therapy Laboratory and Technical Operations systems. This position will supports laboratory staff by performing daily lab functions, including equipment maintenance, quality control, recordkeeping, and supply management. Assists with validation and verification activities, SOP preparation, training coordination, and process support to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation. This role bridges day-to-day laboratory support with broader operational functions, providing essential support to both staff and departmental processes.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in a FDA regulated environment
  • Ability to analyze data into information
  • Ability to organize and present operation material that is accurate and user-friendly
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional relationship with all individuals on the team and others throughout the organization.
  • Ability to meet reporting deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one situations and group situations
  • Highly collaborative work style
  • Strong quantitative and statistical abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; Strong computer skills
  • Proficient in Master Control, eProgesa, and other blood bank and apheresis applications use and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and orderly laboratories, workspaces, and storage areas.
  • File, locate, and manage patient and donor records.
  • Print and review temperature/humidity graphs for processing and storage areas. Monitor storage devices to investigate alarms or excursions as needed.
  • Coordinate and perform equipment maintenance and calibration including sending equipment for calibration as needed and maintain all related documentation.
  • Obtain needed certificates of analysis (COAs) and locate needed package inserts for SOPs.
  • Orders, check in, and track laboratory supplies.
  • Take monthly critical supply inventory tracker.
  • Print new forms at the beginning of each month or upon revision.
  • Assist with validation and verification of new or relocated equipment.
