About The Position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in architecture stages, and work with various teams to design, implement, verify, validate, bring-up, and productize sophisticated transceiver architectures. By collaborating with other product development groups across Apple, you’ll push the industry boundaries of what wireless systems can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world! As a Cellular System Engineer, you will be responsible for the pre- and post-silicon bring up, and validation of end-to-end cellular systems. You will understand and map systems algorithms and requirements to HW/FW architecture, simulation and emulation based validation of the control flows and algorithms.

Requirements

  • BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Good understanding of communication theory and signal processing.
  • Experience with AGC, beamforming, Tx power control, mitigation of radio impairments, and calibration algorithms.
  • Good experience with Matlab, Python, and C/C++.
  • Efficient analysis and automation scripting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MSEE or beyond is preferred.
  • Experience in the design and bringup of wireless communication systems.
  • Expertise in cellular systems preferred.
  • Strong technical background in 5G-NR/LTE/UMTS (3G/2G) physical layer and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience in applying AI/ML techniques on real-world data sets.
  • Experience with silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in the bring up of real silicon in the lab.
  • Ability to efficiently use lab equipment such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter.
