About The Position

In your role as the Cellular RF System Power Architect you will contribute and be part of a best-in-class RF Systems Cellular Team. We are tasked with driving cellular radio technologies addressing GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G NR and beyond. You will work closely with Platform Architecture, RF and PMU design teams, and suppliers to assess, scope, and ultimately drive RF technology innovation to meet the challenges of next generation wireless products. In this role, you will be responsible for deriving the power delivery requirements to RFICs such as peak load, efficiency, noise and ripple. You will work on definition of the required power states of the RF systems for the best power consumption and performance in field across different use cases and model the chip level power consumption working with analog and digital IP owners. Occasional travel including international may be required.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in deriving implementation requirements based on high level system requirements.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-functional environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of proven experience in RF including expertise in transmitter and receiver architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of cellular radio standards (GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5GNR) and their implications on RF system design.
  • Experience with power delivery architectures to RFICs and their impact on power consumption and RF performance.
  • Strong understanding of power delivery circuits, such as DCDC converters and LDOs.
  • Understanding of required power states in RF systems for optimum power consumption and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the RF Systems Cellular Team driving cellular radio technologies.
