About The Position

A Cellar Associate II in Paterson, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This position is Full-time, weekends and nights as needed, and must be 21 - this role is handling alcohol. The Cellar Associate is responsible for the various duties relating to the completion of work orders, safety checks, wine processes, reporting off standards, wash down and clean up, performing specified equipment maintenance and sanitizing work area. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Must possess light mechanic skills.
  • Ability to work night shift.
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Occasional lifting to 55 pounds required.
  • Ability to follow work orders and written instructions.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be certified or able to be certified in forklift operation.
  • Must be able to work shift work and extended hours during harvest time.
  • Ability to do some stooping and bending for extended periods.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Operators in setting up equipment and monitoring wine fermentation, pumping product to tanks and barrels, chemical additions, and sanitation.
  • Read, understand, and maintain work orders in accordance with our winetracking process.
  • Maintain wine quality in assigned operations through adhering to department operating standards and procedures.
  • Perform routine wine and equipment inventory with the cellar department.
  • Operate cellar and harvest equipment including pumps, presses, augers, filtration equipment, and more.
  • Operation of a forklift and scissor lift, with training.
  • Perform harvest assignments including shoveling pomace, pump overs, lees filtration, and more.
  • Maintain positive relationships encouraging strong communication and teamwork.
