Performs high complexity cell processing and testing (flow cytometry, cryopreservation, plasma/red blood cell depletion, cell separation, thawing, etc.) of clinical cell therapy products. Analyzes results to determine product acceptability for distribution. Identifies evaluates, and troubleshoots problems related to product preparation and appropriately documents and reports deviations including developing and executing corrective and preventative action plans. Leads continuous improvement projects to enhance quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies and processes. Writes new and edits current technical procedures and laboratory policies. Adheres to all applicable good manufacturing practices/good tissue practices and regulatory standards to maintain accreditation (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy). Maintains accurate records of all cell process and testing procedures according to good documentation practices. Directly responsible for validation of processes and equipment. Performs routine laboratory maintenance including cleaning, stocking, maintaining equipment, and transporting liquid nitrogen, as needed.
