About The Position
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Clinical Staff member to provide essential support in the operating room, specifically focusing on Perioperative Autologous Cell Salvage. This role is critical in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care during surgical procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and processing patients' blood, which is vital for reinfusion during surgeries. This position requires a flexible schedule, including an on-call rotation, where the individual must be able to report to the hospital within 30 minutes for emergency surgeries or trauma cases. The role involves working closely with anesthesiologists and other medical staff to ensure that all procedures are followed accurately and efficiently. In addition to the technical aspects of the job, the position requires strong communication skills to relay important information to other team members and supervisors. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of procedures and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. Training new staff members and assisting with the maintenance of equipment and supplies are also key responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous clinical laboratory experience preferred. This position is not only about technical skills but also about being part of a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
