About The Position

The Machine Shop Cell Manager at Janicki Industries is responsible for overseeing daily production processes in the machining of metallic parts and tooling. This role involves managing a team of up to 25 personnel, ensuring efficient workflow, and implementing high-efficiency tool path methods. The position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to communicate effectively across various departments, and a focus on productivity and quality in manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Experience in managing machining processes and personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in high efficiency tool path methods and fixture designs.
  • Ability to evaluate data and metrics for production processes.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience with Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AS9100 and Nadcap training requirements.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or space industries.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production processes associated with machining metallic production parts and tooling.
  • Support manufacturing methods and processes for various milling machines.
  • Plan workflows and coordinate multiple projects to maximize productivity.
  • Develop high efficiency and stable tool path methods.
  • Provide direction for fixture designs and cutting tool libraries.
  • Lead and direct a team of employees across multiple shifts.
  • Interface with Project Teams to support scheduling requirements and priorities.
  • Estimate production times and staffing requirements for management decisions.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement cross-training among team members.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are executed according to project management guidelines.
  • Work with Project Managers and Process Engineers to mitigate production risks.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and ensure compliance with AS9100 and Nadcap standards.
  • Maintain tool inventory and ensure accountability among team members.
  • Prepare and provide reports for operations management as directed.
  • Verify documentation completeness before project initiation.
  • Audit and review work packets with technicians before and during activities.
