The Employer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the CEJA program by establishing and nurturing relationships with employers to identify and secure clean energy employment opportunities for program participants. Responsibilities include connecting enrolled and completed participants with clean energy employers, preparing participants for job applications through mock interviews and resume crafting, and providing ongoing support to participants who secure positions with clean energy training programs or advanced clean energy training opportunities. This role will also manage a monthly caseload of new participants and assist in the enrollment process within the ILWorkNet tool. This position requires strong communication and networking skills, as well as a commitment to promoting clean energy workforce development.

Requirements

  • Experience in employer engagement, business development, or workforce development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with employers, community partners, and program participants.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of clean energy industry trends, job roles, and training programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, human resources, or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers to identify clean energy employment opportunities.
  • Connect enrolled and completed program participants with clean energy employers through job placement services.
  • Prepare participants for clean energy job applications by conducting mock interviews and assisting with resume development.
  • Support participants who have applied and been accepted into clean energy training programs, including apprenticeships, on-the-job training, and existing clean energy programs.
  • Collaborate with employers, training providers, and program staff to ensure participants receive appropriate support and guidance throughout the employment process.
  • Stay informed about clean energy industry trends, job market demands, and training opportunities to better serve participants and employers.
  • Maintain accurate records of employer interactions, participant placements, and program outcomes.
  • Regularly communicate with the Program Administrator to report on employer engagement activities and program effectiveness.
  • Potentially attending after-hours events with Chambers of Commerce; City Municipalities may be required.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
