CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a CEI Sr. Bridge Inspector to join our Infrastructure – Construction Inspection Team at a client site in West Palm Beach, FL. CHA provides a full complement of construction administration and inspection services to monitor, record and deliver successful projects. Our inspection team includes seasoned certified construction professionals cross-trained in design, risk management, and health and safety compliance to underscore our commitment to stringent standards. Our team understands that small details can have a big impact. At CHA, the CEI Sr. Bridge Inspector is responsible for examining bridges. Additionally, this individual reviews building codes, local ordinances, and zoning laws, as well as approve blueprints and monitor construction sites. The CEI Sr. Bridge Inspector is expected to be well versed in all areas of construction inspection. Although no two inspection projects are alike, inspectors will perform an initial check during the first phase of construction and follow-up inspections throughout the construction project. When the project is finished, they do a final, comprehensive inspection and provide written or oral feedback related to their findings.   • Examine bridges and ensure compliance with building codes, local ordinances, and zoning laws.
  • Approve blueprints and monitor construction sites.
  • Perform initial checks during the first phase of construction and follow-up inspections throughout the project.
  • Conduct final comprehensive inspections and provide feedback related to findings.
  • High School Diploma required; associate’s degree in engineering science, construction management or related technical field preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related construction observation experience required.
  • Bridge inspection experience preferred.
  • Movable bridge experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates a good knowledge about the construction industry.
  • Ability to comprehend construction and contract documents.
  • Understands and follows company standards, demonstrates knowledge of construction techniques, and able to complete most duties required on complex projects.
  • Ability to understand and interpret client’s contracts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong mathematics skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good knowledge of the Company’s standards and core values.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to aid and teach entry level staff.
  • Extensive travel may be required.
  • CTQP – Concrete Field Inspector certification preferred.
  • ACI Concrete Inspection certification preferred.
  • Bridge Coating Inspector Certification I and II preferred (BCI/SSPC).
  • Salary range: $33.65 - $40.14 based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation.
