About the position

AECOM is hiring a Construction Project Manager to support various transportation design-build projects throughout the Tallahassee, Florida area. The role involves receiving general instructions regarding assignments and exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems related to transportation engineering and construction projects. The Construction Project Manager will direct and assign specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assist in all phases of the construction project, including progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration. The position requires effective communication in English (verbally and in writing) and the ability to conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. The manager will work on projects of substantial complexity and may assume lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Receive general instructions regarding assignments and exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems related to transportation engineering and construction projects.
  • Direct and assign specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assist in all phases of the construction project.
  • Prepare progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.
  • Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Work on projects of substantial complexity.
  • Assume lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida, or the ability to obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six months of Project NTP if registered in another state.
  • Valid US citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects associated with this position.
