We are seeking a Construction Inspector for highway and bridge inspection projects. This position will be in central FL. Duties will include but may not be limited to: Traveling to various project sites to conduct inspection and testing duties Following standard procedures and specifications for documentation and inspection of construction activities Reading, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with construction plans, specifications, and contracts Daily calculating, reporting, documenting, and communicating verbally and in writing Computing quantities for items such as concrete, asphalt, steel, earthwork, drainage structures, and traffic control devices Operating company vehicle, computer, and testing equipment Reporting construction progress and issues with engineers, contractors, utilities, and government officials to Senior Field and Administrative personnel Documenting field changes and as-built plans Documenting daily diaries and material test reports Working in an office or outdoor environment in varying weather conditions as required by the project type

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience in construction or construction inspection, one (1) of which is preferred in water/wastewater, municipal, or roadway and/or bridge construction.
  • Must be able to obtain the following certifications as required by the projects scope of work. Qualifications/certifications for this position may be obtained within six (6) months from the date of hire:
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
  • Required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign, lighting, and traffic signal structure foundations
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
  • Or a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution and ability to obtain the above qualifications in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities
