About The Position

In the role of Civil Construction Inspector I, we'll count on you to conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines. You will monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects, coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing. You will receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress. The role requires performing basic mathematical calculations and following simple technical instructions. Additionally, you must obtain FDOT Intermediate MOT within the first six months of the assignment and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• Ability to obtain FDOT Intermediate MOT within the first six months of the assignment.
• Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school or Associate degree.
• Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.
