The Harper College Community Music and Arts Center seeks a guitar instructor to provide instruction to children and adults in private and group settings. Instructors of electric, acoustic, or classical guitar are welcome to apply. This position starts immediately. The position is dependent on enrollment and may include evening and weekend work. Hours per week vary depending on the needs of the students. Priority is given to individuals who live within the district. Teach weekly private and group guitar classes to non-credit adult students and children enrolled in the Community Music and Arts Center programs. The ability to teach other instruments, such as mandolin, ukulele, banjo, etc., is welcome. Organize and maintain a consistent teaching schedule. Communicate to parents and adult students regarding scheduling, progress, recitals, practice, and signing up for lessons. Prepare students for recitals, performances, and activities. Participate in recruitment activities in and outside of the division. Integrate technology into the delivery of instruction. Attend department and faculty meetings. Attend other meetings when requested. Be active on social media outlets for the purpose of promoting the program.
