About The Position

As a trainee in our Plant Maintenance Mechanic Development Program, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity regarding what being in industrial maintenance entails. Here, you will make an impact by working alongside experienced operations managers and maintenance mechanics at our Mining and Ready-Mix facilities to develop your maintenance skills and put you on the path to becoming an 'A' Mechanic. Your experience will include everything from preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs on both hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyor belts and so much more.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and robotic equipment.
  • Previous mechanical/maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Currently enrolled and/or completed a community college and or technical school program (Welding and or Electrical).

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with Maintenance leadership to perform basic maintenance and repairs on conveyors, equipment, production equipment, electrical controls systems and other related plant systems.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on, repairs to, and/or installation of equipment as directed.
  • Attend required internal and/or external safety classes and follow all safety rules.
  • Read and interpret electrical documentation, hardware drawings, and program terms for troubleshooting.
  • Prepare service reports and complete and submit all service documentation.
  • Keep work environment clean and safe.
  • Work with other maintenance mechanics on projects and rebuilds.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills; listen to other ideas and suggestions.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment and fixtures.
  • Conduct basic maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment.
  • Maintain repair and maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot problems and escalate non-routine and complex issues to senior coworkers.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and determine root cause of failures and eliminate equipment problems.
  • Analyze maintenance and equipment performance data to identify and implement means for improving reliability, uptime, and quality of product.
  • Know and apply the operating principles, purpose, proper application, and design limitations of electrical power distribution system components and elements.
  • Work with guidance from upper-level mechanics to perform routine inspections and monitoring of all production equipment.
