About The Position

Requirements

• Three years of technical or high-level clerical experience.

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Ability to create accessible documents and technical content.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operation of the library in an adult correctional facility.
• Conduct reference interviews and assist library users in locating desired information.
• Provide instruction on information literacy and library skills to inmates.
• Screen interlibrary loan requests and instruct patrons on loan procedures.
• Provide library services to inmates in Restricted Housing/diagnostic units.
• Recommend materials for addition to the library collection based on inmate needs.
• Assign classification numbers and subject headings for new materials.
• Monitor inmate behavior, enforce security regulations, and write reports on rule infractions.
• Prepare annual funding requests and report library expenditures.
• Compose and distribute monthly narrative and statistical reports.
• Supervise inmate library clerks, assign tasks, and monitor workflow.
• Provide training for inmate library clerks.
