Delivery Drivers are responsible for safely delivering our food products from the warehouse or cross-docks to our clients via scheduled routes. Drivers are responsible for operating commercial vehicles (combination or straight trucks) and ensuring that our customers receive their deliveries in a safe and timely manner, loading and unloading products, and collecting payment when necessary. This position requires providing outstanding professional and customer service when communicating and interacting not only with our team but also with our customers and clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Must maintain an active Class A CDL Follow all federal, state, and local Department of Transportation (DOT) traffic laws, safety protocols, and hours-of-service regulations. Inspection & Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip truck inspections per FMCSA/DOT regulations to ensure vehicles are safe, properly fueled, and in good working order. Accurately maintain electronic logs (ELD) or paper logs if there is an ELD malfunction. Participate in required drug/alcohol testing per FMCSA guidelines. Safe Operation and Navigation: Safely drive commercial vehicles in various weather and traffic conditions, adhere to traffic laws, and use the route planning application. Make sure the load is properly secured. Deliver products to the correct address, ensuring items are in excellent condition. Unload products from the truck and deliver inside customers’ location using delivery tools provided (electric or manual pallet jacks, and hand carts. Locations may not have loading docks, and products will need to be taken inside manually. Interact with coordinators, sales, and customers in a professional manner and with warehouse staff to ensure on-time delivery and resolve issues. Assist with ad hoc duties such as dropping/picking up trucks from Penske and/or other vendors. Routes may involve long hours, overnight travel, and early mornings. Most days are home daily. Must be available to work on weekends and overnight when scheduled. Hours of operation vary. Obtain client/customer signatures and/or payment when needed. Follow the process and receive payments from customers when applicable. The route leader is responsible for all payments received and is responsible for making sure those funds are returned to the warehouse/cross-dock. Cross-departmental collaboration to improve communication and business performance. Comfortable, steel-toe or composite closed-toe shoes are required. Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position, complying with Ethnix Group’s policies and performance expectations. Bring any items not delivered back to the warehouse/cross-dock. Organizational Responsibilities: Follow established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s). Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s). Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the site's efficiency, profitability, and productivity. Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, logistics tools, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.
