Elite CDL Yard Drivers Wanted! (Travel Team, Full-Time)
About The Position
Looking for a driving role that actually uses your skills — and rewards you for them? US 1 Shorthaul is growing our Travel Yard Driver Division, and we’re looking for top-tier CDL A drivers who excel at yard spotting, hostling, and precision backing — and are comfortable being on the road up to 90% of the time. This is not OTR freight. This is drop & hook only. This is a role for drivers who take pride in doing it right. Execute high-volume, precision trailer moves in fast-paced yard environments Spot, hostle, and switch 48’–53’ trailers safely and efficiently Perform drop & hook only (no freight handling) Conduct yard audits and pre/post-trip inspections Operate yard trucks and day cabs at customer sites nationwide Represent US 1 Shorthaul professionally while supporting multiple locations > This role supports sites across the U.S. — flexibility and adaptability are key. This position is ideal for drivers who: Are exceptional at backing in tight spaces Prefer yard work over long-haul freight Thrive in new environments and changing sites Are dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented Want consistent work without freight loading/unloading
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A
- 18 months verifiable experience (OTR or qualifying local/yard experience)
- Proven experience backing 48’–53’ trailers to dock doors
- No preventable DOT accidents in the past 3 years
- Clean Clearinghouse & acceptable PSP
- Ability to work different shifts, climates, and locations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
