About The Position

US 1 Shorthaul is growing our Travel Yard Driver Division, and we’re looking for top-tier CDL A drivers who excel at yard spotting, hostling, and precision backing — and are comfortable being on the road up to 90% of the time.

This is not OTR freight.
This is drop & hook only.
This is a role for drivers who take pride in doing it right.

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A
• 18 months verifiable experience (OTR or qualifying local/yard experience)
• Proven experience backing 48’–53’ trailers to dock doors
• No preventable DOT accidents in the past 3 years
• Clean Clearinghouse & acceptable PSP
• Ability to work different shifts, climates, and locations
• Must pass background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Execute high-volume, precision trailer moves in fast-paced yard environments
• Spot, hostle, and switch 48’–53’ trailers safely and efficiently
• Perform drop & hook only (no freight handling)
• Conduct yard audits and pre/post-trip inspections
• Operate yard trucks and day cabs at customer sites nationwide
• Represent US 1 Shorthaul professionally while supporting multiple locations
