About The Position

Drives truck or other vehicle to transport materials to and from specified locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

Requirements

• One to three months’ related experience
• Possesses CDL Class A license or ability to achieve within 3 months
• Good driving records; no more than 2 moving violations in the last 36 months; no DUI or serious violations.
• Hands-on computer skills or ability to learn quickly
• Experience with shipping and receiving paperwork such as preparing receipts for load pickups, verifying load against shipping papers.
• Experience inspecting truck equipment, supplies; ability to maintain required records in accordance with DOT.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education

Responsibilities

• Verifies load against shipping papers.
• Drives vehicles to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area.
• Prepare receipts for loads picked up.
• May maintain truck log according to company, state, and federal regulations.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Performs emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, etc.
• Does assigned work efficiently.
• Operates equipment in a safe manner in accordance with applicable laws.
• Works safely.
• Keeps all required records and maintains a clean vehicle.
• Follows all verbal and written instructions pertaining to operation of vehicle as well as any job to which he/she may be assigned.
