CDL Truck Driver
About The Position
Sundre Sand & Gravel is a family owned business that has been in the sand & gravel business for 50+ years. Responsible for transporting goods in a safe and timely manner using truck or tractor/trailer combination. A commercial drivers license is required. Must have a clean driving record and pass a drug and alcohol test. Drivers will be required to work and stay out of town sometimes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License
- Must pass drug and alcohol test
- Must have clean driving record
- Must provide a medical certificate if required.
- Ability to work and stay out of town for multiple days.
- Adhere to federal and state trucking rules and regulations.
- Good safety, behavior and attendance record.
- Work collectively in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.
- Willingness to do other work as needed, including heavy labor.
- Willingness to work outside in all weather extremes.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including swing shift, graveyard shift, over time and weekends/holidays as required.
- Ability to lift objects of various dimensions up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
- Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged sitting.
- Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Deliver goods while operating a truck or tractor-trailer
- Maneuver equipment into loading and unloading positions
- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered
- Take orders for new deliveries
- Perform a pre and post trip vehicle inspection and report any defects
- Follow accident procedures If an accident occurs.
- Refuel and keep vehicle in clean and good working order
- Follow traffic laws
- Keep commercial driver license up to date
- Complete paperwork in a neat and timely fashion
