About The Position

Fairbank is a leading supplier of Agriculture and Propane parts and equipment, with 14 locations throughout the Midwest and Northwest. Fairbank has done "Whatever It Takes" to provide exceptional service and product knowledge to our loyal customers for over 75 years. We are seeking a safety-focused CDL Truck Driver responsible for transporting materials and equipment in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT), federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a critical part in customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to comply with DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Strong understanding of safe load securement practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior commercial driving experience is strongly desired.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods, operate vehicle controls, bend, climb, reach, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must meet DOT physical qualification standards.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors and involves exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Noise levels are generally moderate.
  • Compliance with all safety requirements and PPE policies is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate CDL-regulated commercial motor vehicles
  • Transport materials and equipment to and from customer sites and company facilities
  • Strip, block, brace, strap, and secure loads in accordance with FMCSA cargo securement standards
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route vehicle inspections as required by DOT regulations
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation
  • Communicate with dispatch and supervisors via phone, radio, or electronic logging systems
  • Load and unload materials using proper equipment and safe handling practices
  • Perform basic roadside or emergency repairs when safe to do so
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent Fairbank positively
  • Follow all company safety policies and immediately report incidents, accidents, or hazards
