Requirements

  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License with Class A CDL endorsement required.
  • Ability to work at or near public school facilities in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Able to follow direction and effectively carry out instructions from Superintendents and Foremen.
  • Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior heavy civil or public works construction experience preferred.
  • Mechanical experience is not required; however, strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are highly valued.
  • Assist mechanics with routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid checks, greasing, tire rotations, basic repairs, and parts cleaning.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work environment at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Class A CDL vehicles, including dump trucks, haul trucks, dovetail trailers, and lowboy trailers.
  • Safely load, transport, and unload heavy equipment in compliance with all DOT regulations and tie-down requirements.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure proper documentation prior to and following transport.
  • Support daily operations within the mechanic shop, assisting with equipment maintenance, organization, and general shop duties.
  • Collaborate with field and shop teams to ensure timely delivery of equipment to project sites.
  • Maintain high safety standards and adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Complete local and regional routes only — no long-haul or overnight travel required.
