About The Position

Rose Paving is currently seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver for our Tampa, FL location. The position involves maintaining truck logs according to state and federal regulations, ensuring road worthiness of the vehicle, and performing pre-trip inspections. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading equipment/materials, maintaining constant communication with the Foreman, and assisting with tasks around the shop when not driving. The role requires a commitment to safety and the ability to perform physical tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Must have a current and valid Commercial Driver's License for the State of North Carolina.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Some knowledge of computers is necessary.
• Good communications skills are required for dealing with customers, sales people, contractors, and shop personnel.
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Must be DOT certified.
• Must pass a drug test and background screen.

Responsibilities

• Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations when traveling out of state.
• Maintain all paperwork.
• Maintain constant contact with Foreman to receive pickup and/or delivery instructions, and keep them informed of any safety issues.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water to ensure road worthiness.
• Conduct maintenance of single and multi-rear axle trucks.
• Perform Pre-trip inspections and explain what one inspects and why.
• Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion.
• Safely load and unload all equipment/materials over all terrains, and properly secure loads.
• Responsible for routing fueling, lubricating, and basic servicing of vehicle.
• Understand air brakes system if the vehicle is equipped with the system.
• Assist ground crews on daily tasks when not operating a vehicle.
